Abstract

Introduction. The current stage of development of society is characterized by dynamic changes in the field of economics, finance, information technologies and international cooperation. In such conditions, the requirements for the professional activities of financial specialists are significantly increasing, in particular, to the level of their responsibility, integrity and compliance with ethical standards. Financiers are specialists who work with cash flows, investments, accounting reporting, financial planning and auditing, and therefore have a significant impact on economic processes at both the micro and macro levels. Their activities are directly related to a high degree of trust from society, investors, clients, and the state, therefore the ethical component in the profession of a financier is not just desirable, but critically necessary.Professional ethics of a financier is a system of moral norms, values and rules of conduct that regulates the professional activities of financial sector employees. It includes the principles of honesty, objectivity, professional competence, confidentiality, responsibility, compliance with the law and loyalty. In modern conditions, when financial transactions are becoming increasingly complex and risks are increasing, compliance with ethical standards is becoming particularly relevant.Problems of ethics in financial activities manifest themselves in various forms: fraud, manipulation of financial statements, conflicts of interest, abuse of official position, disclosure of confidential information, etc. These phenomena undermine trust in financial institutions, destabilize markets and negatively affect economic development. Therefore, research into the ethical aspects of the profession of a financier, the formation of a clear system of principles and norms of behavior are extremely important for improving the quality of financial services and ensuring the stability of the financial system as a whole. The purpose of this study is to comprehensively study the essence of the professional ethics of a financier, determine its key principles, and substantiate the role of ethical norms in ensuring effective and responsible financial activities in modern conditions. The scientific novelty of the work lies in the generalization of the modern understanding of the professional ethics of a financier as a multifaceted social phenomenon that combines moral, legal and professional norms. The study attempts to systematize the key principles of the professional ethics of a financier and adapt them to the requirements of today, in particular, taking into account the challenges of digitalization, globalization of financial markets and the growing role of social responsibility of business.Conclusions. Therefore, the results of this study will contribute to the formation of greater ethical awareness among financiers and the improvement of the general situation in the field of financial services. Identifying key aspects of professional ethics in finance will not only help in forming a positive image of the profession, but will also contribute to the development of a more stable and transparent financial environment. The formation of a strong ethical culture in the financial sector requires efforts from the state, professional organizations and financiers themselves. Only by adhering to high standards of professional ethics can the honesty, transparency and efficiency of the financial system of Ukraine be guaranteed. In this context, the role of each individual specialist is crucial – after all, it is personal responsibility that becomes the foundation for trust across the country.
