INTEGRATION OF BASIC GENERAL MILITARY TRAINING INTO THE EDUCATIONAL PROCESS OF KHMELNYTSKYI NATIONAL UNIVERSITY

Abstract

Introduction. Basic military training (BMT) in higher education institutions is an important element of the formation of civil and military readiness of young people. Its implementation corresponds to the strategic tasks of the state in creating a system of national resistance and ensuring the country’s defense capability. The discipline is aimed at integrating legal, socio-cultural, psychological and military-practical knowledge into a single system of competencies, which allows students to act effectively both in peacetime and in martial law. The educational process is organized on the basis of the principles of legislative obligation, a combination of theoretical and practical components, motivational orientation, territorial-zonal approach and interdisciplinarity. The theoretical block covers knowledge of history, law, international humanitarian law and psychology, while the practical component includes training in tactics, orientation, radiation, chemical and biological protection measures, provision of first aid and evacuation of victims. Special attention is paid to the development of mental self-regulation skills, stress resistance and team interaction. The use of modern educational technologies, interactive teaching methods and information and computer tools helps to increase students’ motivation and ensures effective learning of the material. In addition, the program is consistent with international practices of NATO and EU countries, which allows integrating the Ukrainian training system into the European security space. Purpose and objectives of the article consists in highlighting the integration of basic combined arms training into the educational process of Khmelnytskyi National University, determining its principles, methods and results, as well as substantiating the importance of the discipline as a systemic tool for forming the readiness of education seekers to perform national defense tasks. Results. The article examines the practical experience of integrating basic combined arms training into the educational process of Khmelnytskyi National University with an emphasis on the peculiarities of organizing training, the use of modern methods, and the combination of interdisciplinary components. Thus, BGMT in higher education institutions acts not only as an academic discipline, but also as a systemic tool for the formation of civic responsibility, patriotism, and readiness of young people to defend the state. Its significance lies in the creation of a comprehensive training model that combines legal norms, pedagogical technologies, and practical skills, ensuring a high level of readiness of students to fulfill national security tasks.
