REHABILITATION POTENTIAL OF THE INDIVIDUAL: PSYCHODIAGNOSTIC AND LEGAL ASPECTS

Abstract

Introduction. This article provides a thorough analysis of the pressing scientific issue of identifying and systematically assessing the rehabilitation potential of the individual in the context of contemporary socio-political challenges caused by the full-scale military aggression against Ukraine. The large-scale traumatization of civilians and military personnel, the rapid increase in the number of individuals with primary and acquired activity limitations, as well as the general depletion of the nation’s adaptive resources, necessitate the study of approaches to restoring human functioning. Purpose and objectives of the article. Based on an analysis of current legal and regulatory frameworks, the study aims to theoretically substantiate the concept of «rehabilitation potential of the individual», systematize its structural levels within a biopsychosocial model, and identify psychodiagnostic instruments for their assessment. Scientific novelty. For the first time at a conceptual level, the study combines a systemic analysis of Ukrainian health care and social protection legislation with a concrete set of diagnostic tools. The content of the concept “rehabilitation potential of the individual” is refined and proposed to be differentiated into three interrelated dimensions: Biological level (analysis of functional reserves of body systems and somatic status); Psychological level (including motivational-meaningful, emotional-volitional, cognitive, and personal-reflective components); Social level (covering adaptive-communicative, professional-realization, family-household, and environmental components). The novelty lies in expanding the scientific understanding of the social component of rehabilitation potential. Results. The study confirms that the rehabilitation potential of the individual is a dynamic, multi-level characteristic dependent on the synergy of biological capacities, stability of psychological constructs, and the facilitating influence of the social environment.
