A METHODOLOGICAL APPROACH TO THE INTEGRAL RISK ASSESSMENT OF INNOVATIVE ENTERPRISES BASED ON THE STATISTICAL TRIALS METHOD

The article substantiates a methodological approach to the integral risk assessment of innovative enterprises based on the statistical trials method, also known as the Monte Carlo method. The relevance of the study is determined by the need to move from static analysis of financial and economic indicators to probabilistic modelling of enterprise risk under uncertainty. The proposed approach combines four indicators: the financial independence ratio, the current liquidity ratio, profitability, and the revenue growth rate. Partial risks are integrated into a normalized index ranging from 0 to 1. The index is calculated as a weighted sum, with weights of 0.30, 0.25, 0.25, and 0.20 respectively, reflecting financial autonomy, solvency, operating efficiency, and market dynamics. The approach was tested on a sample of twenty innovative pharmaceutical enterprises. For each enterprise, 10,000 simulation scenarios were generated using a fixed random seed to ensure reproducibility. Triangular probability distributions were applied to model deviations of the input indicators. The simulations made it possible to estimate the average integral risk, its variability, the probability of falling into low-, medium-, and high-risk zones, and the probability of exceeding the thresholds of 0.33, 0.50, and 0.67. The results show that most enterprises are concentrated in the low-risk zone, while several companies display medium or high vulnerability. The probability of exceeding the threshold of 0.33 is 37.22%, the threshold of 0.50 is 21.60%, and the threshold of 0.67 is 8.35%. The findings confirm the heterogeneity of enterprise risk profiles and the need to monitor the most vulnerable companies. The practical value of the approach lies in supporting comparative ranking, identifying vulnerable enterprises, evaluating the stability of risk estimates, and substantiating management decisions aimed at strengthening financial sustainability. Further research should expand the system of input indicators, refine the weighting procedure, compare the results with fuzzy-logic models, and test the approach in other innovation-oriented industries.
