Abstract

This article is devoted to the study of corporate social responsibility (CSR) in the mechanism of encouraging businesses to engage in socially responsible behaviour and respect human rights. Introduction: The topic of CSR is particularly relevant in the context of encouraging businesses to engage in socially responsible behaviour and respect human rights. In the context of globalisation and the growing influence of corporations on people’s lives, it is important for businesses to act ethically and responsibly, respecting the rights and interests of all stakeholders. Purpose: The purpose of this article is to examine the role of CSR in encouraging businesses to engage in socially responsible behaviour and respect human rights. Methods: The methodology of the study is based on a combination of general scientific, specialised and innovative approaches that provide a comprehensive, interdisciplinary study of the role of CSR in encouraging businesses to behave in a socially responsible manner and respect human rights. Within the framework of the work, each of the scientific approaches and methods is integrated into the relevant stages of the study and directly contributes to the achievement of key results. Results: The scientific novelty of the research results lies in a comprehensive analysis of the role of CSR in stimulating socially responsible business behaviour and respect for human rights. Emphasis is placed on the fact that in today’s world, where ethics and responsibility are becoming increasingly important factors for successful business, the role of CSR is growing significantly. CSR goes beyond charity and philanthropy, covering a wide range of principles and practices aimed at the positive impact of companies on society and the environment. The influence of various factors on the behaviour of companies in the field of CSR was studied. Practical recommendations for improving CSR mechanisms were developed. Special attention is paid to issues of CSR of Ukrainian businesses in wartime. Various aspects of CSR are analysed, such as support for the army, assistance to victims of the conflict, charity, volunteering and fundraising. The study examines how companies adapt their CSR strategies to the rapidly changing conditions of wartime, while ensuring sustainable development and a positive impact on society. The importance of transparent communication, innovation and active participation in social initiatives for the effective implementation of CSR in times of crisis is noted. Conclusion: Five key benefits that CSR can bring to business have been identified. The results of the study may be relevant for: improving government policy in the field of CSR; developing and implementing CSR incentive programmes by businesses; raising awareness of the importance of CSR for ethical and responsible business conduct.
