PECULIARITIES OF MANAGEMENT OF SOCIAL AND INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY PROJECTS IN MODERN CONDITIONS

Abstract

Introduction. The article examines the peculiarities of managing social and information technology (IT) projects in the context of contemporary challenges. It highlights the key differences between these types of projects in terms of objectives, resources, implementation approaches, and outcome evaluation. Attention is drawn to common management aspects, particularly the role of stakeholders, risk management, and the importance of communication. Current trends are reviewed, including the digitalization of the social sphere, the use of Agile methodologies, and the growing popularity of hybrid management models. Directions for integrating management practices are proposed to achieve greater efficiency and social impact. The findings may be useful for project managers, researchers, and professionals involved in the implementation of socially significant initiatives using IT solutions. Purpose. The purpose of the study is to review and analyze the peculiarities of managing social and information technology projects under modern challenges. Scientific novelty. For the first time, the peculiarities and interrelations of effective management of social and information technology projects in modern conditions are investigated. Possible directions for integrating management strategies are proposed to achieve a synergistic effect, along with an approach that enables the creation of sustainable, scalable, and socially beneficial solutions. Conclusions. Despite differences in their areas of application, social and IT projects share common management challenges – limited resources, the need for flexibility, clear risk management, and active stakeholder engagement. A response to these challenges may lie in the integration of management approaches that combine the values of social responsibility with the efficiency of modern digital technologies. To achieve greater efficiency and social impact, directions for integrating management practices are suggested, along with updating approaches to project management and forming a new management paradigm that combines innovation, adaptability, cross-sectoral collaboration, and social sensitivity.
