POST-TRAUMATIC STRESS DISORDER AS A SUBJECT OF SCIENTIFIC RESEARCH

Abstract

Introduction. This article summarizes the results of Ukrainian and foreign studies on post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and its manifestations in combatants. The relevance of the topic is due to the growing number of people who have experienced psychotraumatic events as a result of armed conflict, as well as the need to develop an effective system of assistance to veterans. The purpose of this article is to summarize the results of Ukrainian and foreign studies on post-traumatic stress disorder and its manifestations in combatants. Scientific novelty: the study presents an analysis of domestic and foreign approaches to the interpretation of the concept of PTSD, systematizes the factors of its occurrence in military personnel, and outlines the role of institutional and noninstitutional forms of assistance in the rehabilitation process. Particular attention is paid to the need to train qualified specialists and develop state veteran policy. Conclusions. PTSD is a complex psycho-emotional phenomenon that requires a comprehensive approach to detection, treatment, and prevention. An effective system of social and psychological rehabilitation should be based on interdisciplinary cooperation, include the participation of state and public institutions, and be oriented toward the needs of both veterans and their families. The key to successful reintegration of combatants is timely support, access to quality psychotherapeutic care, and the creation of a supportive social environment. The development of a comprehensive veteran policy should be based on the principles of humanism, respect, and state responsibility.
