The article systematizes technologies for engaging volunteers in the provision of social services under martial law and identifies directions for their improvement based on international experience in managing volunteer resources in crisis contexts. The theoretical and methodological framework is grounded in regulatory and legal analysis, comparative analysis, and the generalization of practices of public authorities, international organizations, and the civil society sector. It is demonstrated that martial law in Ukraine (introduced on February 24, 2022) intensifies the need for rapid, accessible, and needs-oriented social services, as well as enhances the importance of coordination mechanisms among state/municipal providers, non-governmental organizations, and volunteer communities. Objective of the article. Particular attention is paid to emergency (crisis) services and the transition to case management after stabilization, which requires the development of intersectoral referral pathways and multidisciplinary cooperation. The study identifies a set of key engagement technologies: needs-based volunteer planning; digital recruitment and matching; institutionalization of cooperation through agreements and protocols; network-based community hubs; competency-based training and certification; integration of volunteers into case management; and safety technologies and the “duty of care” approach for volunteers. Scientific novelty. Ukrainian case studies (including volunteer mobilization platforms, practices of psychosocial support, home care services, and the development of resilience centers) are presented as empirical evidence of the effectiveness of these technologies. Innovative directions for modernization are proposed for volunteer recruitment technologies, including protocols for managing spontaneous volunteers, digital micro-credentials, analytics of needs and workload, strengthening psychosocial support for volunteers, and quality standardization. Results. Thus, the key strategies for engaging volunteers during wartime include: needs-based planning; digital recruitment and matching; institutionalizing collaboration through agreements and local protocols; network hubs (particularly resilience centers); competency-based training and certification; integrating volunteers into case management/multidisciplinary teams; and technologies for volunteer safety and psychosocial support. Prospects for further research should be linked to: the development of quality and effectiveness indicators for volunteer participation in social services; Ukrainian case studies.
Viktoriia Viktorivna Bilenka Copyright (c) 2026 https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0 http://journals.kpdi.in.ua/index.php/swp/article/view/400 Fri, 29 May 2026 00:00:00 +0300 TECHNOLOGIES FOR ORGANIZING PSYCHOSOCIAL SUPPORT FOR THE POPULATION IN TERRITORIAL COMMUNITIES http://journals.kpdi.in.ua/index.php/swp/article/view/401
Introduction. The article examines modern technologies for organizing psychosocial support for the population in territorial communities under conditions of social transformations and increasing psycho-emotional stress. The relevance of developing effective approaches to providing psychosocial assistance as a component of the social protection system is substantiated, particularly in the context of crisis situations, including wartime challenges and internal displacement. The theoretical and methodological foundations of psychosocial support are analyzed, and its essence, principles, and functions at the level of the territorial community are defined. Key technologies for organizing psychosocial support are outlined, including intervention, interagency cooperation, mobile teams of social and psychological assistance, group and individual forms of work, as well as digital tools for service provision. Particular attention is paid to the role of multidisciplinary teams in ensuring a comprehensive approach to addressing the problems of service recipients. The peculiarities of implementing psychosocial technologies in the practice of community social services are determined, taking into account resource capacities, human resources potential, and the needs of different population groups. The importance of developing partnerships between governmental, non-governmental, and international organizations to improve the quality and accessibility of services is emphasized. It is generalized that the effective organization of psychosocial support in territorial communities contributes to increasing social cohesion, psychological resilience of the population, and the restoration of social well-being. The results of the study can be used in the practical activities of social work professionals, as well as in the development of local social support programs. In the context of contemporary social challenges, including wartime events, internal displacement, and increased levels of psychoemotional stress, the issue of organizing effective psychosocial support in territorial communities is becoming particularly relevant. There is a growing need to implement innovative social work technologies capable of ensuring accessibility, comprehensiveness, and quality of services for various population groups. Purpose and objectives of the article. The purpose of the article is to substantiate and systematize technologies for organizing psychosocial support for the population in territorial communities, as well as to determine the features of their implementation in the context of modern social transformations. Scientific novelty. The scientific novelty of the study lies in the generalization and systematization of modern approaches to organizing psychosocial support at the level of the territorial community, clarification of the content and structure of relevant technologies, as well as in determining the role of interagency cooperation and a multidisciplinary approach in ensuring the effectiveness of service provision. Results. The study has shown that the effective organization of psychosocial support in territorial communities requires the implementation of comprehensive social work technologies, the development of partnership interaction among social sector stakeholders, and a focus on the needs of service recipients. This contributes to enhancing psychological resilience, strengthening social cohesion, and improving the overall quality of life.
Olha Mykolaivna Boiko Copyright (c) 2026 https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0 http://journals.kpdi.in.ua/index.php/swp/article/view/401 Fri, 29 May 2026 00:00:00 +0300 SOCIAL INNOVATIONS IN THE COMMUNITY AS AN OBJECT OF MODERN MANAGEMENT http://journals.kpdi.in.ua/index.php/swp/article/view/402
Introduction. The article provides a theoretical interpretation of social innovations in the community as an object of modern management. It is substantiated that under conditions of social instability, decentralization, wartime challenges, and the growing needs of vulnerable population groups, the community becomes a key space for the formation, testing, and implementation of new social solutions. Social innovations are considered not as a set of isolated initiatives, but as a managed process that includes problem identification, the design of response mechanisms, resource provision, intersectoral coordination, monitoring, and evaluation of social impact. The main functions of social innovation management in the community are substantiated, namely diagnostic, strategic, organizational, resource, communicative, coordinating, control, and prognostic functions. The practical dimension of the issue is revealed through the example of the Vinnytsia City Territorial Community, where social innovations are implemented in the form of new services for veterans, persons with disabilities, and children with special educational needs, as well as through the development of supported living, a barrier-free environment, and partnership-based services. It has been established that the effectiveness of social innovations directly depends on their integration into the strategic priorities of the community and on the quality of managerial support. The purpose of the study is to provide a theoretical substantiation of social innovations in the community as an object of modern management and to reveal their practical dimension through the example of the Vinnytsia City Territorial Community. Scientific novelty is determined by the theoretical substantiation of social innovations in the community as an object of modern management. The study clarifies the content of social innovations not only as a form of response to current social challenges, but also as a purposeful process of social change that requires systematic managerial support. The main functions of social innovation management in the community are identified and characterized, in particular diagnostic, strategic, organizational, coordinating, resource, communicative, control, evaluative, and prognostic functions. Further development has been given to the idea of the interrelation between the innovativeness of the social sphere and the managerial capacity of the territorial community. The practical novelty lies in the analysis of the experience of the Vinnytsia City Territorial Community as an example of the institutionally established implementation of social innovations in the field of support for vulnerable population groups. Conclusions. The results of the analysis made it possible to establish that social innovations in the community are not only a form of response to current social challenges, but also an important object of modern management. It has been substantiated that their effectiveness is determined by the community’s ability to identify social needs, mobilize resources, ensure intersectoral interaction, and assess the social effect of implemented decisions. The practical analysis of the experience of the Vinnytsia City Territorial Community has shown that social innovations become effective provided that they are institutionally supported, managerially coordinated, and integrated into the system of local development.
Iryna Mykolaivna Haba, Olha Mykolaivna Palamarchuk Copyright (c) 2026 https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0 http://journals.kpdi.in.ua/index.php/swp/article/view/402 Fri, 29 May 2026 00:00:00 +0300 THE IMPACT OF HEALTH ON ONLINE LEARNING: INCLUSION OF DIGITAL EDUCATIONAL PLATFORMS http://journals.kpdi.in.ua/index.php/swp/article/view/403
Introduction. The article analyzes the transformation of the educational landscape under the influence of the pandemic and military operations in Ukraine, which led to the transition to online learning. The role of digital platforms in access to education for people with chronic diseases and special needs is considered, as well as the challenges of the «digital divide» caused by inaccessible environmental design. Purpose and objectives of the article is to theoretically substantiate the impact of various health conditions on the effectiveness of online learning and systematize educational barriers in accordance with the international standards for the classification of diseases (ICD-11) for the development of recommendations for inclusive design. Scientific novelty lies in the systematization of educational barriers according to ICD-11 codes (in particular 9D90, 6A00, 6B40), which will become a state standard in Ukraine from 2027. A classification table of the impact of specific nosologies on the learning process has been developed. Results. The study highlights specific barriers: for students with visual impairments – incompatibility of materials with screen readers; for people with hearing impairments – priority of audio stream over video; for neurodiverse students (ADHD, dyslexia) – high cognitive load and complex navigation. AI tools have been found to cause «cognitive overload», which, when consumed passively, impairs critical thinking. For individuals with mobility impairments and chronic conditions, online formats provide the necessary flexibility but require adaptation of digital interfaces and overcoming social stigma. It has been proven that the solution to the problems is the implementation of the principles of universal design for learning (UDL) and WCAG standards at the stage of platform development. It is recommended to integrate adaptive AI technologies, provide mental health support, improve staff qualifications and conduct regular digital accessibility audits.
Volodymyr Oleksiyovych Gurich Copyright (c) 2026 https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0 http://journals.kpdi.in.ua/index.php/swp/article/view/403 Fri, 29 May 2026 00:00:00 +0300 TYPES OF GROUP FAIRY TALE THERAPY SESSIONS AND THEIR POTENTIAL IN WORKING WITH PRESCHOOL-AGED CHILDREN IN PRESCHOOL EDUCATION INSTITUTIONS http://journals.kpdi.in.ua/index.php/swp/article/view/404
Introduction. The article examines the problem of psychological support for preschool children in preschool education institutions. The expediency of using group fairy tale therapy sessions for emotional relief and stabilization of children’s psycho-emotional state is substantiated. Purpose of the work. The aim of the study is to conduct a comparative analysis of types of group fairy tale therapy sessions and to determine their therapeutic potential in stabilizing the psycho-emotional state of preschool children. The research methods include analysis, comparison, systematization, and generalization of scientific sources. Scientific novelty. The scientific novelty lies in substantiating the structure and content of different types of group fairy tale therapy sessions and their therapeutic potential in working with children of younger, middle, and senior preschool age. The importance of creating a safe environment for conducting sessions, including the preparation of scenery, attributes, costumes, and musical accompaniment, is emphasized. Based on the analysis of the main types of group fairy tale therapy sessions – story listening and analysis, “story around the circle,” “living story,” and group story creation – it has been proven that the gradual complication of content and forms of organization ensures the transition from passive perception of a fairy tale to the child’s active participation in its creation. This contributes to the development of creative thinking, the emotional sphere, and communication skills. It is shown that the child’s active role in the process of creating a fairy tale, both in individual and group activities, not only allows for identifying the child’s needs and difficulties but also promotes the development of their subjectivity and ensures group cohesion. Results. The results of the study indicate that the systematic use of various types of group fairy tale therapy sessions in preschool education institutions contributes to the stabilization of children’s psycho-emotional state. Prospects for further research are associated with the development of fairy tale therapy programs that combine different types of sessions in order to enhance their effectiveness.
Tetiana Mykolaiivna Demydenko, Nataliia Yevhenivna Yatsenco Copyright (c) 2026 https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0 http://journals.kpdi.in.ua/index.php/swp/article/view/404 Fri, 29 May 2026 00:00:00 +0300 ART THERAPY PRACTICES IN THE SYSTEM OF PSYCHOSOCIAL SUPPORT OF THE INDIVIDUAL http://journals.kpdi.in.ua/index.php/swp/article/view/405
Introduction. The article examines the role of art-therapeutic practices in the system of psychosocial support of individuals, in particular war veterans. A theoretical analysis of scientific approaches to the use of art practices in social work and psychosocial support is carried out. The content of the concepts “art therapy” and “art practices” is clarified, and their differences in the context of professional activity of a social worker are outlined. The study identifies key scientific approaches, namely the biopsychosocial, trauma-informed, and resource-oriented approaches. The role of Veteran Development Centers as institutions of psychosocial support for veterans is revealed. The results of an empirical study of veterans’ needs conducted by the Ukrainian Veterans Fund are analyzed, confirming the relevance of implementing effective support tools. The article proposes a structural and functional model of psychosocial support that integrates the identified scientific approaches and provides for the implementation of art practices in the professional activity of social workers. Purpose and objectives of the article. The purpose of the article is to analyze and systematize scientific approaches to the use of art-therapeutic practices in the psychosocial support of war veterans. Scientific novelty. The scientific novelty lies in the systematization and generalization of modern scientific approaches to the use of art-therapeutic practices in the psychosocial support of veterans, as well as in the development of a structural and functional model for the application of art therapy in working with veterans based on the biopsychosocial, trauma-informed, and resource-oriented approaches. Results. The conducted theoretical analysis demonstrates the importance of implementing art practices in the activities of Veteran Development Centers under modern conditions, particularly pottery as an effective tool of psychosocial support for war veterans. Art practices contribute to creating conditions for self-expression, emotional stabilization, and resource mobilization. The developed structural and functional model of psychosocial support for veterans, based on the biopsychosocial, trauma-informed, and resourceoriented approaches, facilitates veterans’ reintegration through art practices.
Tetiana Ivanivna Zakharina Copyright (c) 2026 https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0 http://journals.kpdi.in.ua/index.php/swp/article/view/405 Fri, 29 May 2026 00:00:00 +0300 ENSURING ACCESS OF PERSONS WITH WAR-RELATED DISABILITIES TO SOCIAL SERVICES: INTERNATIONAL LEGAL APPROACHES AND UKRAINIAN PRACTICE http://journals.kpdi.in.ua/index.php/swp/article/view/406
Introduction. The article examines the issue of ensuring access to social services for persons with disabilities caused by the fullscale armed aggression of the Russian Federation against Ukraine, in the context of international legal standards and contemporary Ukrainian practice. In the context of armed conflict, there has been a significant increase in the number of individuals requiring comprehensive social support, which highlights the need to assess the effectiveness of the social protection system and its compliance with international human rights standards. Purpose and objectives of the article. The purpose of the study is to provide a comprehensive analysis of international legal approaches to ensuring the accessibility of social services for persons with disabilities, as well as to identify the specific features of their implementation in Ukraine under martial law. To achieve this goal, both general scientific and special legal research methods were applied, including analysis, synthesis, comparative legal and systemic approaches, which enabled a comprehensive study of the issue. Scientific novelty. The scientific novelty of the research lies in a comprehensive approach to analyzing the accessibility of social services for persons with war-related disabilities through the combination of international legal and socio-practical perspectives. The study clarifies the concept of accessibility as a key element in the realization of the rights of persons with disabilities and identifies the main factors influencing the actual accessibility of social services in wartime conditions. Results. The results of the study demonstrate that despite the existence of formally established legal guarantees, access to social services in Ukraine is accompanied by a number of systemic challenges, including infrastructural, financial, and organizational barriers. It is argued that the effective implementation of international standards requires not only improvements in the legal framework but also the development of institutional mechanisms, enhanced coordination among social policy actors, and the introduction of inclusive approaches to service provision. The conclusions substantiate the need to improve mechanisms for implementing international standards, develop digital tools for accessing social services, and strengthen the role of the state in ensuring social protection for persons with war-related disabilities. перспективні напрями further research are outlined, particularly those related to evaluating the effectiveness of specific models of social service provision and adapting international experience to Ukrainian realities.
Nazar Stepanovych Kupnovytskyi Copyright (c) 2026 https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0 http://journals.kpdi.in.ua/index.php/swp/article/view/406 Fri, 29 May 2026 00:00:00 +0300 PUBLIC HEARINGS PROCEDURE AS A MECHANISM FOR CITIZENS’ PARTICIPATION IN THE MANAGEMENT OF THE DEVELOPMENT OF A TERRITORIAL COMMUNITY http://journals.kpdi.in.ua/index.php/swp/article/view/407
Introduction. Analysis of regulatory documents and scientific research on citizen participation in resolving issues of local importance allowed us to reveal the essence of key concepts: the procedure for public hearings, the features of organizing and conducting public hearings in the public governance system. The key essential features of public hearings are: the possibility of public control and public involvement in resolving issues of local importance in order to influence management decisions; organizing meetings for deliberative discussions of issues of local importance; holding meetings to coordinate management activities with public opinion, as well as informing and publishing the results of such activities. Purpose and objectives of the article. The purpose of the article is to study the procedure of public hearings as an institutional mechanism for citizen participation in the process of public decision-making. Results. Based on the analysis of the legal regulation of citizen participation in the process of public decision-making, it was determined that such participation is carried out through: public hearings; local initiatives; general meetings of citizens at the place of residence; public expertise of local government bodies; consultations with the public; bodies of self-organization of the population. The algorithm for organizing and conducting public hearings includes the following steps: initiating public hearings; preparing for public hearings; conducting public hearings; implementing the results of public hearings. It was concluded that the ways to increase the effectiveness of public hearings in the public governance system are: high-quality preparation for public hearings; citizens’ motivation to participate in public hearings and their activity during them; organization of public hearings; professionalism and competence of participants; further consideration of the results of public hearings.
Maryna Mykolaivna Lekholetova, Alina Volodymyrivna Dulia Copyright (c) 2026 https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0 http://journals.kpdi.in.ua/index.php/swp/article/view/407 Fri, 29 May 2026 00:00:00 +0300 THE PROFESSIONAL AUTONOMY OF PROBATION OFFICERS AS A KEY RESOURCE FOR THE RESOCIALIZATION OF ADOLESCENTS http://journals.kpdi.in.ua/index.php/swp/article/view/408
Introduction. This article examines the issue of transforming the probation service in the context of reforming Ukraine’s law enforcement system and wartime society. It highlights the need to rethink the role of the probation officer as a key agent in the resocialization of adolescents in conflict with the law, taking into account digitalization, interagency cooperation, and the increasing complexity of forms of adolescent delinquency. Purpose and objectives of the article is to provide a theoretical justification for the professional autonomy of probation officers as a fundamental condition for the effective resocialization of adolescents and to demonstrate the need to transform the criteria for evaluating probation activities from formal-bureaucratic indicators to qualitative indicators of social well-being. The scientific novelty lies in conceptualizing the professional autonomy of probation officers as a subjective resource for resocialization, substantiating the phenomenon of “professional resistance” as a constructive strategy for protecting the child’s interests, and developing an approach to evaluating the effectiveness of probation based on multidimensional qualitative indicators. The study proposes interpreting the probation officer’s activities as a form of social engineering and “social shaping” of the adolescent’s personality. Research Methods. The study employed a range of theoretical methods: analysis and synthesis of scientific literature, regulatory and legal acts, and analytical materials; comparative analysis of international experience (in particular, the Norwegian and Estonian probation models); and systematic and conceptual analysis to substantiate the author’s approaches to the professional activities of probation officers. Results. It has been demonstrated that the effectiveness of juvenile probation directly depends on the level of professional autonomy of the officer, their capacity for ethical judgment, and interagency coordination. The necessity of transitioning to a person-centered model of probation has been substantiated, which entails reducing bureaucratic burdens, introducing digital tools, and focusing on qualitative indicators of adolescents’ social well-being. It has been established that modern probation is transforming into a serviceoriented support system aimed at restoring social ties and ensuring sustainable positive changes in the individual.
Oleg Vasylovych Lisovets, Nataliia Anatoliivna Kyrychenko, Ihor Valeriiovych Sukhanov Copyright (c) 2026 https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0 http://journals.kpdi.in.ua/index.php/swp/article/view/408 Fri, 29 May 2026 00:00:00 +0300 DIGITAL FUNDRAISING AND PR IN THE ACTIVITIES OF NON-GOVERNMENTAL ORGANIZATIONS OF SOCIAL ORIENTATION: APPLIED TECHNOLOGIES OF RESOURCE MOBILIZATION http://journals.kpdi.in.ua/index.php/swp/article/view/409
Introduction. The article examines the transformation of communication strategies of non-governmental organizations (NGOs) in the social sphere during the transition from traditional to digital models of resource mobilization. The relevance of the topic is due to the need to overcome the resource deficit of NGOs through the implementation of Web 3.0 tools and Web 4.0 predictive technologies. The role of digital fundraising and PR is considered not just as auxiliary marketing tools, but as fundamental competencies of a modern social worker, ensuring the sustainability of social services in conditions of a protracted crisis and war. Purpose and objectives of the article. The purpose of the article is the theoretical substantiation and practical analysis of the evolution of fundraising paradigms, the identification of psychological mechanisms of digital content’s influence on donor behavior, and the development of applied recommendations for the use of P2P technologies and ethical storytelling in the activities of socially oriented NGOs. Results. For the first time, the work proposes a comparative model of the evolution of digital resource mobilization (from paradigm 2.0 to 4.0), based on changing the donor’s role from a passive recipient to a proactive ambassador (“intellectual patron”). Based on the analysis of cases of leading Ukrainian foundations (“Tabletochki”, “Come Back Alive”), the effectiveness of the transition from the “aesthetics of shock” to the “aesthetics of resilience” is proven, allowing an increase in donor LTV by 30–45%. The concept of “communicative solidarity” is substantiated as a network mechanism for overcoming compassion fatigue. Statistical data from the Dobro.ua platform and the World Giving Index 2024 report are processed, confirming the dominance of mobile traffic (82%) in the structure of the modern charitable segment of Ukraine. It is proved that the synergy of PR technologies and social work methods ensures the capitalization of trust through the digital presence of the NGO. It is established that the key asset of an non-governmental organization in Web 3.0 is semiotic capital and reputation, rather than just a contact database. Deontological boundaries for the use of AI and Big Data in social PR are formulated, where the priority remains digital humanism and protection of the client’s dignity. The introduction of inclusive practices into social work creates a space of complex ethical choices, where standard protocols often conflict with the rights of a particular person to self-determination and privacy. Professional activity of a specialist in such conditions requires not only technical skills, but also deep value reflection to balance between client safety, community requirements and principles of social justice. Analysis of typical moral dilemmas allows developing effective support strategies that minimize the risks of professional errors and ensure real, rather than formal, inclusion. A special role in this process belongs to the formation of ethical stability of a specialist, which allows him to act confidently in conditions of legal and social uncertainty. Expanding the boundaries of inclusion requires not just the mechanical execution of job descriptions, but a rethinking of the very philosophy of social support, where the interests of the individual become the central reference point. Systematization of accumulated experience and identification of effective strategies of ethical response create a reliable basis for building a barrier-free space, where each participant in the interaction feels protected and recognized. The purpose of the article is to theoretically substantiate and systematize the main ethical dilemmas that arise in the activities of social workers during the implementation of inclusive practices, as well as to identify strategies for resolving them on the basis of human rights and social justice. The scientific novelty of the study lies in identifying mechanisms for resolving ethical dilemmas that arise during the implementation of inclusion. Conclusions. It is generalized that the ethical dimension is a fundamental factor in the success of inclusive processes in social work. The main ethical dilemmas that arise in the area of conflicts between client autonomy and care, as well as confidentiality and multidisciplinary interaction, are systematized. Strategies for overcoming moral conflicts through the implementation of models of «practical wisdom», dialogical interaction and supervisory support are substantiated. It is determined that further research should be aimed at empirically testing these strategies in the activities of multidisciplinary teams and the development of deontological training programs for specialists.
Vasyl Petrovych Moiseiuk Copyright (c) 2026 https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0 http://journals.kpdi.in.ua/index.php/swp/article/view/411 Fri, 29 May 2026 00:00:00 +0300 COMPARATIVE ANALYSIS OF INTERNATIONAL AND DOMESTIC PRACTICES OF FORMING STUDENTS’ SOCIAL SUCCESS IN THE EDUCATIONAL ENVIRONMENT OF THE UNIVERSITY http://journals.kpdi.in.ua/index.php/swp/article/view/412
Introduction. The social success of students is a strategic resource in terms of human capital and an increasingly significant subject of academic reflection within the discourse of contemporary higher education. Against the backdrop of a full-scale armed invasion and mass forced displacement of the population, this issue has taken on fundamentally new forms and dimensions, highlighting the need to rethink approaches to institutional support for students and to develop standardised tools for assessing their social competencies. Purpose and objectives of the article. The purpose of the study is to conduct a comparative analysis of approaches to promoting the social success of students in Western European, Anglo-American, and domestic higher education systems, identify international models, and substantiate priority areas for their adaptation in the university environment of Ukraine. Scientific novelty. International models for fostering students’ social success, which have not yet been systematically applied in Ukrainian higher education, have been systematised: social capital development, four-dimensional peer support for students, blended learning for the development of flexible skills, grit programmes and the development of emotional intelligence, a three-level systemic model, problem-based learning with roleplaying simulations, and the self-reinforcing cycle of the first semester. A comparative analysis of approaches in the higher education systems of Finland, the Netherlands, Germany, the United Kingdom, Ireland, the USA, Canada and Ukraine was carried out based on key concepts, main forms of support, the student’s position and mechanisms for assessing outcomes. Results. It has been established that social success is an operational, measurable and pedagogically controllable phenomenon, the purposeful development of which requires the systematic design of the university educational environment. The common denominator of all effective international models is three principles: the student’s subjectivity as a guarantee of authentic self-realisation, the systematic pedagogical design of the university environment, and the verifiability and measurability of outcomes. The domestic pedagogical tradition, despite its significant educational potential, requires conceptual renewal aimed at strengthening students’ agency in shaping their own educational trajectory, introducing standardised tools for assessing social competences, and developing comprehensive institutional mechanisms for supporting students in higher education institutions.
Iryna Serhiivna Nokhrina Copyright (c) 2026 https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0 http://journals.kpdi.in.ua/index.php/swp/article/view/412 Fri, 29 May 2026 00:00:00 +0300 INNOVATIVE APPROACHES TO SOCIAL WORK WITH COMBAT VETERANS IN LOCAL COMMUNITIES http://journals.kpdi.in.ua/index.php/swp/article/view/413
Introduction. In the challenging conditions of ongoing military operations, the implementation of innovative approaches in social work with combatants and veterans at the level of territorial communities is driven by contemporary social challenges associated with the consequences of war, the increasing number of combatants and veterans, and the growing complexity of their needs. The transition to civilian life is accompanied not only by physical and psychological difficulties but also by challenges related to social readaptation and resocialization, employment, restoration of social ties, and the re-establishment of life orientations. Under such circumstances, traditional approaches to social support and assistance prove to be insufficient, as they are often fragmented and fail to address the comprehensive nature of veterans’ needs. Therefore, there is a pressing need to introduce innovative models of social work that ensure an integrated, interdisciplinary, and client-centered approach to the provision of social support and services. Particular importance is attached to the role of territorial communities as the primary level for organizing social support and assistance, where direct interaction between combatants, veterans, and the social environment takes place. It is at the community level that a conducive space for reintegration, social participation, and the restoration of an active life position is formed. Purpose and objectives of the article. The purpose of this study is to provide an in-depth analysis and scientific substantiation of innovative directions in social work with combatants and veterans within territorial communities, as well as to determine their functional significance for enhancing the effectiveness of professional social work practice. Scientific novelty. The scientific novelty of the study lies in the comprehensive conceptualization of innovative directions of social work with combatants and veterans in territorial communities as an integrated system of interrelated approaches. For the first time, the study systematizes intervention-psychosocial, community-oriented, social entrepreneurship-based, reintegrationorganizational, personalized (case management), and intersectoral approaches as key components of an innovative model of social support for combatants and veterans. The content and functional characteristics of these approaches have been further specified in the context of territorial community practice. In addition, the study advances the understanding of social entrepreneurship as a tool for economic self-realization and social reintegration of veterans. It also substantiates the feasibility of case management as a mechanism for individualizing social support and demonstrates the importance of intersectoral cooperation as a prerequisite for ensuring the comprehensiveness and continuity of social assistance. Overall, the findings expand the theoretical and methodological foundations of social work with combatants and provide a basis for the implementation of an innovative model of social support in territorial communities. Results. It has been established that the implementation of innovative directions in social work with combatants and veterans, including intervention-psychosocial, community-oriented, social entrepreneurship-based, reintegration-organizational, personalized, and intersectoral approaches, into the practice of support and case management creates the conditions for developing a coherent and effective system of assistance. These approaches ensure the transition to a more flexible, adaptive, and person-centered model of support that takes into account the individual needs of veterans and facilitates their full reintegration into society.
Liudmyla Yosypivna Petryshyn, Olha Viktorivna Soroka, Svitlana Mykolaivna Kalaur Copyright (c) 2026 https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0 http://journals.kpdi.in.ua/index.php/swp/article/view/413 Fri, 29 May 2026 00:00:00 +0300 STRATEGIC COMMUNICATIONS AS A TOOL FOR OVERCOMING GLOBAL CHALLENGES IN THE SOCIAL SPHERE http://journals.kpdi.in.ua/index.php/swp/article/view/414
Introduction. The article updates the description of the results of professional speech, communicative activity of future social workers with a master’s degree. It presents data from a survey of students regarding those speech qualities that social workers should possess – speech abilities, speech personal qualities, interests and inclinations in the social sphere that they would prefer to possess. The results of the testing, which confirmed their ideas about the linguistic specificity of the social worker’s activity and the features of the analysis of professional statements, established the prerequisites for the successful development of communicative skills of future specialists in the specified field. The processed scientific sources allow us to specify the content of support, which is understood as the interaction of a social worker in an environment aimed at mutual understanding, support and assistance in professional growth, assimilation of the norms of language culture, enrichment of vocabulary with terminological and professional vocabulary. The orientation of the applicant’s personality towards self-development and self-improvement in mastering professional speech skills, which is manifested through the ability to communicate in its various types, forms and means for the effective solution of the tasks set. The effectiveness of communication in communications will be enhanced by a common understanding of the situation, which becomes possible in the case of including business communication in the general system of social work activities. During communication, specific communicative barriers may arise with social work clients, they are of a social or psychological nature. In connection with the above, the mechanism proposed by us for implementing communicative support for applicants for the specialty of social work involves the organization of educational and methodological activities through the implementation of a specialized course of the professional training cycle «Strategic Communications in the Social Sphere».
Valentyna Mykolaivna Sanzharovets, Ganna Volodymyrivna Koval Copyright (c) 2026 https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0 http://journals.kpdi.in.ua/index.php/swp/article/view/414 Fri, 29 May 2026 00:00:00 +0300 PARTICIPATORY DESIGN AS A TECHNOLOGY FOR OPTIMIZING THE PROCESS OF IMPROVING EDUCATIONAL PROGRAMS IN THE SPECIALTY “SOCIAL WORK AND COUNSELING” http://journals.kpdi.in.ua/index.php/swp/article/view/415
Introduction. Educational programs, especially in such practice-oriented fields as social work, must be constantly updated to meet social and historical challenges. Such changes, which are sometimes transformative, must be initiated both from inside the educational environment (primarily by students, as internal stakeholders) and from outside (primarily by employers, as external stakeholders). The implementation of such processes is possible only if the principles of participation are introduced in the processes of improving educational programs. Purpose and objectives of the article is to substantiate participatory design as a technology, the use of which contributes to the optimization of the processes of interaction between students, employers and representatives of higher education institutions in the process of making changes and improving educational programs in the specialty I10 “Social Work and Counseling”. The scientific novelty of the study is determined by the fact that the work proves that the improvement of educational programs for the training of applicants in the specialty “Social Work and Counseling” should be based on the principles of participation (involvement of representatives of a higher education institution, students, and employers in decision-making and into the formation of ideas), and the optimal technology for such improvement of the educational programs may be participatory design. Results. Involving students in the analysis of the educational program emphasizes and allows to implement the principle of student-centeredness. Joint sessions on work on educational programs with the participation of students, employers, and representatives of higher education institutions can contribute to the formation of professional communication skills in applicants, who will gain experience in professional communication even before starting their work, develop their creative potential, activate learning processes, and stimulate innovative thinking of education applicants. Involving employers in these processes contributes to the formation of a common «education-practice» ecosystem, in which there is mutual enrichment of the higher education institution and the employer. The participation of employers working in the social services market of a particular region allows to form unique characteristics of the educational program, according to which it is possible to train a specialist who will be effective in this particular region. Such joint work can also be useful for forming employers’ commitment to the higher education institution as a source of new personnel from among graduate students. Applicants can use the method of self-reflection in the course of optimizing educational programs. Students can analyze their real learning experience, record it, and describe with arguments the features of forms, methods of learning, the use of learning technologies that for some reason do not suit them and should be changed or improved. It is also possible to use stimulating visual material to create collages during participatory design sessions.
Iryna Yuriivna Chaika, Olena Vladyslavivna Malovichko, Yevhen Heorhiiovych Tsokur Copyright (c) 2026 https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0 http://journals.kpdi.in.ua/index.php/swp/article/view/415 Fri, 29 May 2026 00:00:00 +0300 SOCIAL OPTIMISM AS A RESOURCE FOR RESILIENCE OF SOCIAL SPHERE PROFESSIONALS http://journals.kpdi.in.ua/index.php/swp/article/view/416
Introduction. The article summarizes approaches to understanding resilience as an integrative phenomenon that includes personal, social and environmental resources. The structure of resilience of social workers is analyzed. The scientific investigation reveals the essence of social optimism as a specific personal resource of social workers, which has cognitive, emotional, behavioral and motivational-value components. It is proven that social optimism contributes to the integration and effective use of other resources of resilience of specialists. Its importance for maintaining professional motivation in social work, preventing emotional burnout and ensuring effective social interaction is determined. Purpose and objectives of the article to carry out a theoretical analysis of the resilience of social work professionals, to identify its structural components, and to substantiate social optimism as a key personal resource that contributes to enhancing professional effectiveness under conditions of stress and uncertainty. The scientific novelty lies in deepening the understanding of resilience of social sector professionals as a dynamic system of interaction between internal and external resources, as well as in identifying social optimism as a key resource that ensures their integration and effective functioning under conditions of challenges and uncertainty. Results. The article reveals the essence of the resilience of social sphere specialists as a dynamic process of interaction of personal, social and environmental resources. It is determined that resilience has an integrative nature and includes value-motivational, emotional-psychological, cognitive and social components. The role of the resource-based approach is substantiated, according to which the key factor is the specialist’s ability to mobilize and effectively use available resources. It is proven that social optimism acts as a personal resource encompassing cognitive, emotional, behavioral, and motivational-value components. It is shown that social optimism performs the function of a meta-resource, activating other resilience resources and contributing to the enhancement of the professional effectiveness of social sphere specialists.
Alina Viktorivna Chernyakova Copyright (c) 2026 https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0 http://journals.kpdi.in.ua/index.php/swp/article/view/416 Fri, 29 May 2026 00:00:00 +0300 CLIL METHODOLOGY IN DEVELOPING FOREIGN LANGUAGE COMMUNICATIVE COMPETENCIES OF FUTURE SOCIAL PROFESSIONALS http://journals.kpdi.in.ua/index.php/swp/article/view/417
Introduction. The modern paradigm of higher education in Ukraine, integrated into the European Higher Education Area, requires social sphere specialists to possess not only profound professional knowledge, but also a high level of foreign language communicative competence. This is necessitated by the need to collaborate with international humanitarian organizations, study advanced rehabilitation practices, and support vulnerable populations (namely, people with disabilities, internally displaced people (IDPs), veterans and others) within a cross-border context. Content and Language Integrated Learning (CLIL) emerges as an effective tool that allows for the simultaneous mastery of professional content and a foreign language, bridging the artificial gap between theoretical training and language practice. The purpose of the study is to provide a theoretical substantiation of the core components of the CLIL methodology, to develop alternative proposals for its application in the process of forming the foreign language communicative competence of future social work professionals (social workers and psychologists), and to verify its effectiveness in the real-world educational process of a higher education institution. Scientific Novelty. The components of CLIL didactic principles (the «4Cs» framework: Content, Communication, Cognition, Culture) have been analyzed and adapted to the specificities of social sphere training, considering the necessity of mastering professional terminology in psychosocial rehabilitation and inclusion. The integrated learning model has been enhanced by combining the learning of English with case-study methods aimed at solving professionally-oriented social tasks in a foreign language. The concept of foreign language communicative competence is defined and analyzed as a vital component of a social worker’s professional identity, including readiness for intercultural communication in crisis situations and under martial law. Conclusions. The implementation of the CLIL methodology in the training of future social sphere specialists significantly improves the level of English for Specific Purposes (ESP) proficiency. It has been established that integrated learning stimulates students’ cognitive processes, increases motivation for studying professional disciplines, and forms a readiness to use a foreign language as a tool for continuous professional development. The application of CLIL prepares specialists capable of working effectively in international projects (such as Erasmus+ programs etc.) and implementing inclusive values within Ukrainian society.
Maryna Borysivna Voloshchuk Copyright (c) 2026 https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0 http://journals.kpdi.in.ua/index.php/swp/article/view/417 Fri, 29 May 2026 00:00:00 +0300 RIVALRY AS A SOCIO-PSYCHOLOGICAL PHENOMENON: ASPECTS OF RESEARCH http://journals.kpdi.in.ua/index.php/swp/article/view/418
The article examines rivalry as a complex socio-psychological phenomenon that manifests itself in various spheres of interpersonal and social interaction. The main theoretical approaches to the study of competition are analyzed. Emphasis is placed on the dual nature of rivalry, which, on the one hand, can perform an adaptive function by promoting self-development, increasing performance, and fostering healthy social ambitions, while on the other hand, it may lead to destructive consequences such as conflicts, emotional exhaustion, and social isolation. Particular attention is given to the mechanisms of rivalry formation at different stages of socialization, as well as its impact on the development of personal identity, the emotional sphere, and the behavioral strategies of the individual. Research aim. To identify the psychological features of rivalry as a socio-psychological phenomenon and to determine its significance for personality development and the functioning of social communities. Scientific novelty. The study systematizes and generalizes modern approaches to the analysis of rivalry from a psychological perspective. A comprehensive view of this phenomenon is proposed, considering it as a multidimensional construct encompassing cognitive, emotional, and behavioral levels. Its adaptive and destructive functions in social interactions are also outlined. Conclusions. Rivalry is an integral element of interpersonal and group dynamics. It can play a stimulating role by fostering motivation, increasing productivity, and promoting self-realization. At the same time, excessive or destructive competition may lead to conflicts, reduced self-esteem, and deterioration in the quality of social relations. Further research should focus on mechanisms of rivalry regulation and on identifying effective strategies for its constructive use.
Liudmyla Mykolaivna Komarnitska Copyright (c) 2026 https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0 http://journals.kpdi.in.ua/index.php/swp/article/view/418 Fri, 29 May 2026 00:00:00 +0300 CONCEPTUAL FOUNDATIONS OF GENDER ORIENTED SOCIAL WORK WITH INTERNALLY DISPLACED WOMEN IN UKRAINE http://journals.kpdi.in.ua/index.php/swp/article/view/419
Introduction. The relevance of the chosen topic is due to the need to rethink approaches to social support for IDPs through the prism of a gender approach. The title of the work directly reflects its problematic field: combining the gender approach as a theoretical and methodological basis and practice of social work with a specific vulnerable group – women who have experienced forced displacement. In war conditions, gender inequalities are exacerbated: women more often take on responsibility for children and elderly relatives, face difficulties in finding employment, double burden and increased risk of gender-based violence. Therefore, there is a need to implement gender-sensitive and gender-transformative social work practices that not only respond to the consequences of the crisis, but also contribute to overcoming structural inequality. Objective of the article. Identification of the features of gender oriented social work with IDP women in Ukraine, as well as an assessment of modern practices of supporting this group of clients through the prism of the continuum of gender approaches to increase the effectiveness of their social adaptation. Scientific novelty. The analysis of the specifics of the vulnerability of IDP women of different age groups, as well as modern gender oriented practices of social work with IDP women in Ukraine, was carried out through the prism of the continuum of gender approaches by Gita Rao Gupta. This allowed classifying existing practices of social work with IDP women in Ukraine according to three levels of gender approach: gender-sensitive, gender-transformative and empowerment. Results. Thus, the practical application of a gender oriented approach in social work involves conducting gender analysis at all levels and taking into account the principles of intersectionality and inclusiveness, which ensures a more comprehensive consideration of the needs of IDP women and the adaptation of support programs to their real needs and living conditions in Ukraine. Gender-oriented social work is based on the principles of gender equality, intersectionality, empowerment and overcoming structural inequality. The use of gender analysis allows identifying specific barriers faced by IDP women and forming targeted support programs taking into account their social experience. Using gender statistics as an information basis for analysis allows us to identify specific barriers faced by IDP women and to formulate targeted assistance strategies that take into account their unique social experiences.
Valentyna Ivanivna Nykolaieva, Natalia Hrygorivna Malіarchuk, Sofiia Anatoliivna Viacheslavova Copyright (c) 2026 https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0 http://journals.kpdi.in.ua/index.php/swp/article/view/419 Fri, 29 May 2026 00:00:00 +0300 ACADEMIC INTEGRITY AND PROFESSIONAL ETHICS IN THE TRAINING OF SPECIALISTS IN THE SOCIO-PSYCHOLOGICAL SPHERE http://journals.kpdi.in.ua/index.php/swp/article/view/420
Introduction. In the current context of higher education reform, the issue of academic integrity and professional ethics is gaining particular importance as a fundamental basis for the training of specialists in the socio-psychological sphere. Their significance is determined not only by the need to ensure the quality of the educational process, but also by the necessity of forming a responsible specialist capable of acting in accordance with moral norms, professional standards, and the principles of humanistic interaction. For future psychologists, social workers, counselors, and educators, adherence to academic integrity is a prerequisite for the development of critical thinking, independence, scientific accuracy, and a responsible attitude toward the results of their own activities. At the same time, professional ethics determines the boundaries and modes of interaction with people, ensures trust, confidentiality, tolerance, respect for human dignity, and the prevention of professional misconduct. Therefore, understanding the interrelation between academic integrity and professional ethics is an important area for improving the professional training of future specialists. Purpose and objectives of the study. The purpose of the study is to provide a theoretical substantiation of the role of academic integrity and professional ethics in the process of training specialists in the socio-psychological sphere. To achieve this purpose, it is necessary to reveal the essence of the concepts of “academic integrity” and “professional ethics,” determine their place in the structure of the future specialist’s professional competence, characterize the main risks of violating ethical and integrity standards in educational and future professional activities, and outline the pedagogical conditions for the formation of an appropriate culture within the higher education system. Results. The study has established that academic integrity and professional ethics are interrelated components of the professional development of future specialists in the socio-psychological sphere. It has been proved that systematic adherence to the principles of honesty, responsibility, respect for authorship, and the reliability of the results of educational and scientific activity creates the foundation for the formation of an ethically mature professional personality. It has been found that violations of academic integrity in the educational process may transform into professional deformations, including irresponsible attitudes toward clients, distortion of diagnostic results, disregard for confidentiality, and neglect of professional standards. It has been substantiated that the effective formation of the relevant values requires the integration of ethical issues into the content of professional disciplines, the use of practiceoriented tasks, the analysis of professional situations, and the development of reflection and personal responsibility among students. It has been generalized that the establishment of academic integrity and professional ethics in the educational environment is an important condition for training competent, morally responsible, and socially mature specialists capable of effective professional activity in the context of contemporary social challenges.
Oksana Mykhailivna Palyliulko, Inna Mykolaivna Humeniuk, Nataliia Romanivna Storozhuk Copyright (c) 2026 https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0 http://journals.kpdi.in.ua/index.php/swp/article/view/420 Fri, 29 May 2026 00:00:00 +0300 GENDER RESPONSIVE CAREER COUNSELING AS A TOOL FOR THE PROFESSIONAL RESOCIALIZATION OF WOMEN http://journals.kpdi.in.ua/index.php/swp/article/view/421
Introduction. The modern career counseling market in Ukraine often remains gender-neutral, leading to the disregard of genderbased discrimination and the reinforcement of inequality. Traditional methodologies, oriented toward the androcentric «ideal worker» model, prove ineffective for vulnerable categories, particularly women with children and women survivors of gender-based violence (GBV). The article highlights the necessity of shifting from technical career counseling to a comprehensive strategy for women’s economic empowerment, where financial independence is viewed as a fundamental factor in a woman’s safety and social rehabilitation. Purpose. To substantiate the necessity of implementing a gender-sensitive approach in the training system for career advisors as a key condition for the successful professional resocialization of women who have experienced GBV or find themselves in difficult life circumstances, based on the case study of the «Break the Circle» project. Academic novelty. For the first time, using a specific training case for the «Break the Circle» Hub counseling community, the article describes the methodology for integrating a gender lens into career support technology. The author’s development is based on the deconstruction of the idea of sole individual responsibility for success and a revision of the concept of career gaps in the context of unpaid care work. The role of linguistic representation (femininitives) and the legitimization of care work as tools for restoring a woman’s agency within professional discourse is substantiated. Conclusions. It is proved that the gender competence of career counselors allows for the identification of hidden barriers (glass ceiling, sticky floor, motherhood penalty) and the proposal of realistic development trajectories for women seeking to re-enter the labor market. Successful resocialization of women survivors of gender-based violence is possible only if the professional community understands the social context and rejects victim-blaming vocabulary. Future research prospects lie in implementing these standards into the work of state employment centers to create safeguards against economic dependence and violence.
Olha Anatoliivna Popadynets Copyright (c) 2026 https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0 http://journals.kpdi.in.ua/index.php/swp/article/view/421 Fri, 29 May 2026 00:00:00 +0300 DIGITAL INCLUSION AS A DIRECTION OF MODERN COMMUNITY SOCIAL WORK http://journals.kpdi.in.ua/index.php/swp/article/view/422
Introduction. In the current context of the digital transformation of society, community social work is acquiring new substantive and technological characteristics associated with the need to ensure equal access for all categories of the population to social services, information, communication, and support resources. This issue becomes especially relevant in the context of the social inclusion of persons with disabilities, older adults, internally displaced persons, families in difficult life circumstances, and other vulnerable groups, for whom the digital environment may simultaneously serve both as a space of new opportunities and as a factor deepening inequality. In this dimension, digital inclusion appears not only as the technical provision of access to electronic services, but also as a comprehensive social process that encompasses the development of digital literacy, the creation of an accessible communication space, the adaptation of digital tools to the needs of different population groups, and the strengthening of a community’s capacity for social support. Purpose and objectives. The purpose of the study is to provide a theoretical substantiation of digital inclusion as an important direction of modern community social work and to determine its significance for expanding vulnerable population groups’ access to social services and mechanisms of social participation. To achieve this purpose, the study is intended to clarify the essence of the concept of “digital inclusion” within social work discourse, outline its main components and functions, characterize the possibilities of using digital technologies in community social work practice, and identify the key barriers and risks that complicate clients’ engagement in the digital environment. Results. The study found that digital inclusion is a multidimensional phenomenon that combines technological, social, educational, and communicative components. It was proved that its implementation in community social work practice contributes to increasing the accessibility of social services, improving the efficiency of social support, developing remote counseling, strengthening interagency cooperation, and enhancing clients’ participation in solving their own social problems. It was substantiated that the effectiveness of digital inclusion depends on the level of digital competence of both social service professionals and service recipients, as well as on the availability of adapted digital resources, barrier-free service design, and a supportive social environment within the community.
Oleksandr Volodymyrovych Shevchuk Copyright (c) 2026 https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0 http://journals.kpdi.in.ua/index.php/swp/article/view/422 Fri, 29 May 2026 00:00:00 +0300
